The goal of the German-Spanish Forum is to create a space for reflection in which actors from politics, business, society and the media from Spain and Germany define positions on crucial bilateral issues affecting the future of the European integration process in order to discuss those positions and develop them further. The forum takes place every two years, alternating between Spain and Germany, and is complemented by preparatory and follow-up workshops.
Launched at the suggestion of the German and Spanish governments, the forum was held for the first time in 2002 on the occasion of the German president’s visit to Madrid.
